Understanding Your Rights & Obligations as a Make Loud Noise Client

At Make Loud Noise, we believe in mutual respect and clear expectations. This document outlines your rights as a client and your responsibilities in maintaining a professional learning environment.

Last updated: 10th February 2026

1. Your Rights as a Client

You have the right to:

  • Receive professional, evidence-based voice training from a qualified specialist

  • Train in a safe, inclusive, and respectful environment free from harassment, bigotry, and discrimination

  • Have your personal data protected in accordance with Australian Privacy Principles (see Privacy Policy)

  • Have your identity and session content kept confidential (see Privacy Policy)

  • Access lesson recordings for personal educational use

  • Be treated with dignity and respect regardless of gender identity, sexual orientation, race, religion, or ability

  • Receive services in accordance with Live Performance Australia Code of Practice and APRA AMCOS Code of Conduct

2. Your Responsibilities as a Client

Professional Conduct:

You are responsible for conducting yourself professionally and respectfully toward the Director, Make Loud Noise staff, Red Star Music staff, other clients, and industry peers. Harassment, threatening behavior, or abusive conduct will result in immediate service termination without refund.

Punctuality & Attendance:

  • Arrive on time for scheduled sessions

  • Lessons start at the scheduled time, not when you arrive

  • Late arrival does not extend lesson time

  • Notify Make Loud Noise immediately if you cannot attend (see Service Terms and Terms & Conditions for cancellation policies).

Mental & Vocal Health:

You are responsible for your own mental and vocal health. Make Loud Noise provides voice training, not medical or therapeutic services. You must:

  • Seek appropriate medical care when needed (GP, ENT, Speech Pathologist)

  • Seek appropriate mental health support when needed (Psychologist, Counselor, Psychiatrist)

  • Follow medical advice from qualified healthcare professionals

  • Disclose health conditions that may impact your training

  • Provide medical clearance when requested by Make Loud Noise

Make Loud Noise staff hold Vocal Health First Aid and Mental Health First Aid accreditations but are not medical professionals. Any advice provided is general guidance only and must not replace professional medical or mental health care.

Preparation & Practice:

You are responsible for:

  • Coming to sessions hydrated and vocally warmed up (after your first lesson)

  • Bringing required materials (folder, water bottle, sheet music, notebook, pen)

  • Providing audio tracks ahead of time via Dropbox or Google Drive

  • Having a specific focus or goal for each session

  • Practicing between sessions - nothing substitutes for your own effort and action

  • Following instructions and vocal health guidance provided during training

Communication & Boundaries:

Office Hours: The Director operates during published office hours only. Contact outside office hours will be responded to during the next business day.

Right to Disconnect: The Director is not available 24/7. Your lack of planning does not constitute the Director's emergency. For medical emergencies, dial 000.

Response Times: The Director will respond to inquiries, support requests, and communications during business hours around the needs of family and business operations.

Respect for Time: Do not exploit the generosity of the Director. If a lesson goes overtime, it is at the Director's discretion. Additional time beyond 15 minutes will be charged at your hourly rate.

Compliance with Policies:

You are responsible for:

  • Reading and understanding all Make Loud Noise policies (Privacy Policy, Acceptable Use Policy, Service Terms, Terms & Conditions, Accessibility Statement)

  • Complying with all policies as a condition of service

  • Meeting technical and health requirements outlined in Service Terms

  • Adhering to industry standards including Live Performance Australia Code of Practice and APRA AMCOS Code of Conduct

  • Respecting confidentiality obligations regarding other clients and studio operations

Violation of any Make Loud Noise policy will result in service termination without refund.

Payment & Financial Responsibilities:

You are responsible for:

  • Paying for services in full and on time as outlined in Terms & Conditions

  • Maintaining current and valid payment information

  • Understanding that non-payment for services rendered constitutes theft and will be referred to appropriate authorities

  • Booking and paying for leave in advance if you wish to hold your lesson spot during travel (see Terms & Conditions)

  • Understanding there are no refunds, reschedules, or credits for missed sessions

Intellectual Property Responsibilities:

You are responsible for:

  • Respecting Make Loud Noise intellectual property, including proprietary methodologies, techniques, and materials

  • Using lesson recordings for personal educational purposes only

  • Not teaching, reproducing, or commercially exploiting any Make Loud Noise methodologies or materials without explicit written consent

  • Not recording, photographing, or sharing any aspect of studio operations or other clients on social media or public platforms without written consent

  • Maintaining confidentiality regarding other clients and unreleased music observed or overheard at the studio
