A short bus, train or car ride from Brisbane City centre, the Make Loud Noise studio is situated in a 130-year-old workers cottage. Kilgarven was named after an Irish town by the original owners of the house. The Irish township Kilgarven literally means "Church of St Garbhan". St Garbhan is an Irish Catholic saint who is noted for his monastic efforts to preserve knowledge and culture in Ireland. How fitting that Kilgarven is used as a teaching studio to preserve the knowledge of popular culture musics and culture of the Brisbane extreme vocals scene.
